Meet the Team
Cosplay Repair Manager

Ashweez Cosplay
Ashweez Cosplay (she/they) is a Texas-based cosplayer, graphic designer, and sewist who has been cosplaying and attending conventions since 2005. She loves cosplay as it’s the perfect intersection of self-expression and problem-solving. A self-declared cosplay veteran, Ashweez gives back to the community through writing informative online materials, hosting educational panels, and managing cosplay repair booths. When she’s not entering cosplay contests, she’s helping run them backstage, lending her hand to contests such as Anime Frontier, Creators After Dark, Dream Con, and Nishi Fest. Ashweez believes that anyone and everyone can cosplay in their own unique way.

Blush Bunny
Blush Bunny Cosplay (she/they) is an award winning masters-level competitor based in Texas with over a decade in the community. She has a degree in Theatrical Costume Design and currently works backstage in live theater in the Wigs, Hair and Makeup department. She is very passionate about teaching and sharing their cosplay and theater knowledge with anyone wishing to hear it.

John/Johnny B (he/they) has been cosplaying for almost ten years and been building and making props for even longer. An artist at heart, Johnny loves bringing his designs and ideas into meat space. As a maker his motto is using the right tool for the job will make the job right. He loves sharing info and teaching others so he’s fallen easily into the role of Cosplay/Maker Dad.

Kaseydidwhat
Kaseydidwhat (she/they) has been cosplaying for over a decade. Once Kasey began competing, she managed to reach Master’s distinction in under a year. Her characters of choice are strong independent women, and usually the ones who have an impeccable K/D ratio. When Kasey isn’t cosplaying, she’s being just as creative as a Lighting Director for live events.
Millie (she/her) is excited and looking forward to greeting guests interested in the booth, and introducing them to available members throughout the event. She is a production tech for event spaces and music venues who has been involved in all facets of event execution including security, merch handling, settling and advance, AV board op, rigging and stage management. She loves coffee, horror movies, and live music.

Purple0Dragon
Purple0Dragon (she/her) is a Texas-based cosplayer who has been in the community since 2013/2014 and the craft for nearly as long. She competed in her early years of cosplay and will be returning to the stage very soon! She has a large background in mixed media, but specializes in armor and sculpting. She has done leatherwork professionally for two years now. Beyond just costumes, she has done cosplay handling for a number of years. Many have dubbed her Convention Mom/Auntie because when in doubt her bag of holding usually has snacks if she’s not (lovingly) yelling at you to hydrate.

The Geeky Seamstress
The Geeky Seamstress (she/her) is a plus-size craftsmanship-focused cosplayer and theatrical costumer from Texas. Since 2012, she’s used her background as a librarian to document her builds and provide resources to the cosplay community. She’s been competing since 2014 and guesting and judging contests since 2015. Since then, she has won more than a dozen awards for her craftsmanship and guested at conventions across the United States. She loves talking shop with fellow creators and encouraging body-inclusivity in cosplay!
Vespid (he/they) has been active in the convention and cosplay community since 2017. He is passionate about helping others discover their own creative interests because he has many! Vespid considers themself a casual cosplayer, but a serious problem solver. When he isn’t making costumes, wigs, and props, he can be found painting, drawing, making jewelry, doing makeup/bodypaint, modeling for photoshoots, and taking care of his exotic pets. The characters they tend to cosplay are “horrible little men” or “insufferable gremlins” from all kinds of animation.

Xaeri
Xaeri (they/them) has officially been in the cosplay community for a decade, focusing their time primarily on wig styling and makeup. They’ve also found a love for cosplay photography, as it’s the perfect cross between their artistic passion and journalism background. Outside of cosplay (but even when they are) they like to build keyboards, drink boba, and loaf around with their two cats, Mash and Lova.
Repair Booth Volunteers
ComfiiCutie (she/they) is a cosplayer originally from Kentucky who is now currently Texas-based. She has been going to conventions for over ten years and also has been in cosplay competitions since 2013. ComfiiCutie is a Master Award-winning Craftsmanship cosplayer, cosplay judge and has worked with Riot Games and has been featured in Cosplay Realm Magazine and Webtoon.

JWo Designs
JWo Designs (she/they) has been cosplaying since 2005 & attending conventions since 2006. She recently started entering cosplay competitions, but has been a cosplay judge & guest at Rocket City Nerdcon & GamersBay Cayman. She has worked for Obsidian Games and ASTRO Gaming at PAX East. JWo enjoys making text and video tutorials teaching others how to cosplay and craft. Their specialties are sewing, leatherworking, sculpting, & make-up.

Pink Sunshine Cosplay
Pink Sunshine Cosplay (she/they) has been cosplaying since 2016, with a love for fun makeup looks for that little extra flair for a costume. Over the years, she’s been continually working to improve her makeup and wig styling skills and slowly working on small ways to alter pieces for costumes. Having needed to utilize the Cosplay Repair Booth at least once for the last few Anime Frontiers, she understands the need for small, quick fixes on the con floor and is ready to share some tools and skills with others!
